DECLARATION: YURUN FOOD HAS NEVER USED EXPIRED MEATS AS RAW MATERIAL
PROVISION OF QUALITY FOOD PRODUCTS ADOPTING STRINGENT QUALITY CONTROL MEASURES |
(26 May 2011, Hong Kong) China Yurun Food Group Limited ("Yurun Food" or "the Company", and together with its subsidiaries, the "Group" (SEHK: 1068), a leading vertically-integrated meat-product processor and supplier in China, would like to issue a statement in response to certain news reports from local and online media that aluminum clasp and plastic wrap were found in the Group's sausage meat products sold under one of its brands.
After preliminary investigation, the Company believes that the incident was caused by malfunction of one of the filling machines in the production plant of a subsidiary of the Group. The Company has conducted emergency repairs on the equipment concerned, which will not pose any material impact on the routine meat production process. In addition, utilising internal product tracking measures, the Company recalled approximately 260 kilograms (total product value of less than RMB100,000) of sausage meat products. These products will be destroyed with the assistance of local authorities, in order to ensure that none of these products will be sold in the market.
Yurun Food has always regarded food safety as its principal business philosophy and has never used any expired meat as raw materials.
