YURUN FOOD RESUMES OPERATIONS AT DUJIANYAN PLANT--YURUN FOOD AND PARENT COMPANY DONATE RMB 6 MILLION TOTAL TO EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FUND

(Hong Kong, 19 May 2008) China Yurun Food Group Limited ("Yurun Food or "the "Company"), and its subsidiaries collectively referred to as the "Group"(SEHK:1068), a leading vertically-integrated meat-processing company and supplier in China, announced today that its Dujiangyan plant in Sichuan Province has been resumed on 16 May, Friday. In addition, in an effort to help the earthquake victims and the rebuilding of the impacted area, the Company and its parent company, will donate RMB 5 million to the earthquake relief fund in Sichuan and Yurun Food will donate RMB 1 million in food for the people affected by the earthquake.

"We are very thankful that our Dujiangyan factory only suffered minor damage as a result of the horrendous earthquake last Monday and that we were able to rapidly reinstate our operations at that factory," commented Mr. Zhu Yicai, Chairman of Yurun Food. "We are deeply concerned about the immense suffering of the earthquake victims in and around Sichuan Province and along with our parent company, have decided to donate a total of RMB 6 million to the relief effort."

Following the earthquake on 12 May, the Group's hog slaughtering plant in Dujiangyan, Sichuan Province, temporarily closed due to minor structural damage and the outage of power and water supply. The Group was able to repair the damage incurred at the Dujiangyan plant within three days of the earthquake. In addition, the local officials reinstated the power and water supply in some areas of Dujiangyan last Thursday. As a result, the Dujiangyan plant was able to resume its operations last Friday. The Group believes that the interruptions at the Dujiangyan plant caused by the earthquake will not significantly impact its operating results for the period. The operations at the Neijiang and Guangyuan plants were not impacted by the earthquake and continue as usual.
